It employs approximately 3.000 top-notch researchers, engineers and scientists eager to resolve challenges and provide knowledge in order to support EU policies in a variety of areas from agriculture and food security, to environment and climate change, as well as nuclear safety, security and growth.
At the moment, they are looking for a Full Stack Developer.
Contribute to the maintenance and the further development of the European Platform on Rare Disease Registration (EU RD Platform, https://eu-rd-platform.jrc.ec.europa.eu); including the European Rare Disease Registry Infrastructure (ERDRI), its tools and services
Develop and implement front and back end software collecting metadata from different sources;
Implement algorithms to build similarity graphs among metadata;
Implement search technologies in a multi-domain multi-fabric data context;
Implement RESTful APIs and web-based user interfaces;
Extract, construct and re-construct dataset provided in XML, delimited text, SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Triple Stores, MongoDB);
Support the creation and maintenance of a repository of software code and scripts (Jira, Git);
Support, when necessary, the maintenance and further development of the EUROCAT Data Management Software (EUROCAT: European Surveillance Network for Congenital Anomalies; its Central Registry is part of the EU RD Platform).
Thorough knowledge of computer programming (in particular with Java, PHP, python or node.js) and software architecture
Strong demonstrated knowledge of RDF(S), OWL, SPARQL and related technologies as well as XML, JSON-LD, YAML, and other data serialization formats
A proven experience with Linked Data modelling is desirable
Good writing and presentation skills in English
